The 1831 Obverse Dies
The Mint continued producing Half-Dimes at the same pace as in 1829 and 1830 at around 1.2 million pieces. It is interesting to note that in 1831 the mint used 3 obverse dies and 5 reverse dies. In 1830 6 obverse and 8 reverse dies were used and in 1829 6 obverse and 10 reverse dies were used. All three years approximately the same number of coins were minted.
