The Marriages of the 1829 Obverse 4 Die
The 1829 Obverse Die #4 has an amazing 6 different marriages (not to mention another 5 remarriages), several of which are quite scarce. The first die paring of Obverse Die # 4 was with Reverse D creating LM-5 a lowly R-1 coin.
The second paring was with Reverse E creating the LM-6 series (6.1, 6.2, 6.3), The LM-6 examples are all quite scarce at R-5 or rarer and it can be difficult to find a pleasing example.
The third paring was with Reverse F creating the LM-10, another scarce marriage at R-4.
The fourth paring was with Reverse H, and the LM-15 was born, another scarce combination at R-4.
The 5th paring is Reverse J creating LM-17, as with the previous two, they are scarce at R-4.
Lastly, the sixth paring brought Reverse M into the fold and the LM-18 R-4 ended the year.
